hike + oal camp.

Today's the annual hike 2007 in Pulau Ubin! I was in this group called "My Chemical Romance". Definitely not the group name I wanted but I wasn't there during the hike briefing due to OALcamp, which i will talk about it later. The name was pretty long, thus reporting of strength left me tongue tied at times. Thinking of a cheer together with yongkang was also hard. Luckily, we never had to report in chinese, or else i doubt i could find a translation for the name.
Anyways, we set off from school at around 0730. The weird thing is we took a chartered bus to Changi. Talk about welfare haha. We took public transport to Changi last year lolz. Took around half an hour, we reached Changi at around 8am+. Then, we fall in in front of the flagpole of Changi Jetty. We were given time to eat breakfast until 0930. After that, we set off to Pulau Ubin.
The worst thing i could probably thought of before setting off to Pulau Ubin was getting pump in the jetty. This thought occured as one of my group members wore black bermudas instead of black track pants. Imagine him wearing that in ATC, that's porbably gg for him. Guess that the CI became kind and settled the problem without me or yongkang, the in-charge and assistant in-charge, getting punished.
Back to the main point, we reached Ubin and fall in at the basketball court. There, we chose our first destination and took a looong time to find its bearing before we set off. After that, we went to around three checkpoints including the first one. We had to forfeit the third checkpoint's task in order to get to Noordin beach on time as it was a special task station. In the end, the trip to Noordin was fruitless as we didn't manage to win that station. We put that aside and pack up to go to the next checkpoint, and the second last checkpoint if Maamam Beach was the last checkpoint.
Well, this was the part where people screw up for some unknown and unexplained reason. I do not to wish anyone's names or what, but seriously, when I'm typing this, I do wish to whack those people. Before we set off, I've already told them to walk in twos, for fuck's sake, I've said that walk in twos for numerous times, and the bunch of them still do not know how to listen to instructions. Maybe I was like that during secondary1, I apologise here, on my ignorance, assuming I'm good or whatever reasons you want to say. But still, I'm sure that I've at least never heard my sec1 ic shouting continuously to get us in twos. Everyhting was automatically, we walked in twos without much reminders needed. That was, if I'm not wrong, unless my memory fails me. Back to present, this is completely different. Throughout the whole hike, the group rarely ran, as I was afraid there would be people unable to catch up, which was true as I noticed some people's face getting pale as time passed.
Forget about that part, pm me on msn if you're interested in my frustration. Another point, they can't shout. Afraid to exxagerate your voacal chords? I do not know and simply can't find a reason. Besides that, it seems like SOME, not all of them do not know how to listen to simple instructions like gather in a circle and listen while somebody is talking, in the end he doesn't know anything. Fuckk. And it seemed like my fault. Now I know how hard it is to be an in-charge.
Maybe they don't respect me? Then too bad, they're gonna get it from me. Seems like everything I said they do not listen. I look like a slacker, hanwen told me once, I agree at times too. But I simply do not know how to look serious. The serious face just isn't present. Maybe you need a serious and enthusiastic face to command respect. sigh.
Anyways, after much struggling with the hike, we managed to clinch the best cheer award! Credits to yongkang for thinking of the cheer.
I've said enough already. Lazy to blog about OAL camp. Go check it out on chekwei's blog if you wanna know.
